Limited Driving Privileges

Orange County DUI Lawyer

After an Orange County DUI arrest/conviction and driver's license suspension, a person may be able to apply for limited driving privileges. As an Orange County DUI attorney, I am familiar with helping my clients apply for a restricted license in order to drive for necessary reasons.

Contact my firm to find out how I can help you apply for and obtain a restricted license. I understand that it is extremely inconvenient and frustrating not to be able to drive, and it may be a hardship. As an Orange County DUI lawyer, I understand how to help you obtain limited driving privileges even if your license has been suspended.

I help clients obtain restricted licenses throughout Orange County, including Tustin, Anaheim, Irvine, Fullerton, Westminster, Santa Ana, Newport Beach and Costa Mesa.  If you're looking for an attorney to help you get your restricted license, I can help!

Limited Driving Privileges & DUI in Orange County

Limited driving privileges enable a person to drive to and from work, school and for household needs. In order to apply for a restricted license, a person must provide the following to his/her local DMV office:

  • Payment of re-issuance fee
  • Proof of enrollment in DUI School
  • Proof of insurance (form SR-22)

After a first offense DUI, a person must wait 30 days after the suspension of his/her license to apply for a restricted license. A person with multiple offenses on his/her record will face a more difficult situation. A person with one prior DUI conviction may be eligible to apply for limited driving privileges after 1 year of actual license suspension, and that is only if he/she has enrolled in DUI school and has completed most or all of the program. A commercial driver may not apply for limited driving privileges.
